Beyond the Luci d'Artista: A Guide to “Creepmas” 2025 in Turin

creepmas heading

Welcome to the age of Creepmas: the dark side of partying in the magic city par excellence.

Turin is not a city like any other. It is the apex of the black and white magic triangle, a place where mystery is not a tourist attraction, but part of the urban DNA. If this December you're looking for something to get your heart beating faster than a cup of hot chocolate, we've selected 5 real experiences for you to experience the thrill of the holidays.

1. Torino Magica®: The Esoteric Tour

One cannot talk about mystery in Turin without mentioning the esoteric tour of Somewhere. A nocturnal journey through the nerve centres of the city: from the Fountain of the Twelve Months to the secrets of Piazza Statuto. It is the perfect way to understand why Turin is considered the occult capital of Italy, amidst legends of devil's gates and hidden Masonic symbols.

2. Museum of Contemporary Witchcraft

Located a few steps from the statue of the Winged Genius in Piazza Statuto (often associated with Lucifer), the Museum of Contemporary Witchcraft is a deep and authentic journey into the magical arts. Founded by Norak Odal, it houses over 1,000 exhibits including the mysterious “Book of the Devil”, Mesopotamian amulets and ritual artefacts. During the Christmas period, the museum celebrates Yule (the winter solstice) with special events such as the “Witch's Walk” and ritual celebrations that take Christmas back to its pagan and mysterious roots.

3. Museum of Pathological Anatomy: Human Frailty

If the thrill you seek is visceral, this museum offers a disturbing perspective on human nature. Amidst historical preparations and ceroplasts documenting diseases of the past, the austere atmosphere offers a profound reflection on the “stuff” we are made of, far from the commercial glitter of parties.

4. Monumental Cemetery: Art and Silence

In December, the fog transforms the Monumentale into a Gothic film set. Funeral shrines and marble angels tell stories of noble families and forgotten artists. A walk that invites contemplation of the “passage”, in full Creepmasque spirit.

5. The Ultimate Experience: The Gates of Hell (Dogma)

The journey into the darkness of Turin must end where terror becomes physical and adrenalin explodes: Dogma Escape Room. Here you are not a spectator, but the protagonist of a nightmare of 90 minutes (far beyond the standard of classic rooms).

Set in the home of an exorcist priest who found what was not to be found, The Gates of Hell is the final test for your nerves.

  • Total Immersiveness: Professional sets and state-of-the-art mechanisms make the supernatural tangible.

  • Narrative Tension: A live actor reacting to your fears and choices in real time.

  • Evolutionary Audio: A cinematic soundtrack that changes according to your progress, constantly pushing you to the limit.

In via Pastrengo, the exorcist's house is waiting for you. This year, under the tree, don't put the usual gift: give a thrill that won't vanish with Epiphany.

🎁 BONUS: The Black Folklore that won't let you sleep

Have you come this far? Then you deserve to know the dark roots of Christmas. Long before Father Christmas became the reassuring icon we know, winter was populated by creatures born to punish, not reward.

  • The Krampus: The horned demon of the Alps accompanies St Nicholas. While the Saint rewards the good, the Krampus kidnaps the bad children in his wicker panniers. Imagine the sound of his cowbells in the silence of an icy Turinese night.

  • Perchta the “Disemboweller”: This figure visits houses during the twelve days of Christmas. If the house is dirty or you have not worked hard, legend has it that he will cut your belly and fill it with straw and stones.

  • The Cat of Yule (Jólakötturinn): From Iceland comes the giant beast that devours anyone who has not received a new piece of clothing for Christmas. A dark warning that turns the gift of a jumper into a matter of life and death.
